BBK launches an online account opening service via the BBKPLUS App!

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, continuously strives to present its customers with the latest technological solutions to further enhance their banking experience.  
BBK is proud to introduce a new account opening service via a mobile app that will enable new and existing customers to open accounts at their own convenience in a highly secure setting. Through the BBKPLUS app, all customers will be able to open a Savings account, Salary Transfer account, Money Maker account in multiple currencies, and an Al Hayrat account.  
The mobile app provides customers with a quick yet secure account opening application process using the latest technologies such as ID and identity verification, customer screening and document verification all of which are required to open an account at a branch. Moreover, it allows customers to generate an ePIN to access all of BBK’s e-channels immediately and perform their banking transactions online. The app also provides account funding options including fast and secure payment via a payment gateway.  
Dr. AbdulRahman Ali Saif, BBK’s Group Chief Executive commented: “In line with our strategic direction to provide our customers with solutions that suit their fast moving lifestyles, we are proud to announce the launch of the BBKPLUS app, BBK’s new online account opening service.  Now, customers will be able to open an account at their own convenience with great transparency, reliability and enhanced security. This undertaking by BBK represents the latest in a number of BBK’s efforts to leverage Fintech, by investing in technology with the aim of enhancing operational effectiveness and reducing risk through automation and digitization, which is driven by the Bank’s dedication to the betterment of the value offering and service standards to its customers.” 
Dr. Adel Salem, General Manager of the Retail Banking Division at BBK commented: “The BBKPLUS app will empower our customers to conveniently open an account or multiple accounts without having to visit the branch, hence providing them with the flexibility of `banking at their preferred time and place. Our aim is to provide a service that is in line with the fast moving world of technology to accommodate our customers’ fast paced and time constrained lifestyles.”
To avail the service, new customers will simply need their mobile devices and their personal Bahrain ID Card, in addition to a second ID. Upon downloading the app, they will be required to sign up and verify their identities. Customers then have the convenient choice of opening a variety of multiple accounts and in foreign currencies simultaneously. A great feature of this app is that customers will be able to log out and sign back in to continue where they left off without losing the entered information while completing the account opening requirements.  It is worth mentioning that the account opening service will be available through other electronic channels in the near future.
The BBKPLUS app is available to all iOS and Android users, and will serve as the latest in a series of recently launched technology-based banking services from BBK.
