05 Apr 2023

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, commenced a partnership with EWA to provide four Self Service Kiosks where EWA clients can conveniently pay their bills by cash or card. These kiosks are in Ramli Mall, Lulu Riffa branch, Dana Mall and Mazaya Mall in Zayed Town.

This service was provided based on the strategic partnership between BBK and EWA to ease bill payments for EWA clients. The kiosks are provided in collaboration with Payment International Enterprise B.S.C (PIE) which provides a wide range of financial solutions and services.

Dr. Abdulrahman Ali Saif, BBK Group Chief Executive stated that providing EWA with the Self-Service Kiosks, which have been dispersed throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a further step to provide EWA subscribers with more convenient services and facilities.

“We are proud to work with EWA to provide these Kiosks and are open to working with public and private organizations to expand the digital facilities available to those who benefit from their services. We can also draw on our extensive experience in building financial complexes with self-service technology so that clients can conduct all their financial transactions around-the-clock with convenience and dependability” he added.

Dr. Saif affirmed that this partnership demonstrates, once again, BBK’s dedication to evolving and developing the digital transformation process the Kingdom is witnessing and represent a new addition to BBK’s leading position in integrated digital payments.

From his part, His Excellency Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Affairs Authority (EWA) commended the partnership with BBK in this field and stated that these self-service kiosks are part of the EWA’s ongoing efforts to offer subscribers with simpler and adaptable services and to realize the authority’s vision of accessing comprehensive electronic services in line with the digital transformation process that the Kingdom is experiencing.

His Excellency added that this service represents a qualitative addition to the electronic services provided by EWA, including the quick payment service through Information and e-government Authority portal, direct deduction by credit card or international bank account number, inquiry and bill payment service, data update, electronic invoice, order status inquiry, and high consumption report among other services.
