The Society has received regular support from the Bank through various regular donations over the past years. It should be noted that the Bahrain Down Syndrome was established in 1998 for studying individual needs of down syndrome and giving them assistance to develop their skills and abilities. The Down Syndrome Centre is considered as one of the key activities of the Society. It offers therapeutic and educational services to individuals suffering from this syndrome in different age groups and abilities. In addition, the Society organizes and prepares courses, seminars and training lectures for those concerned with individuals with Down Syndrome. Their parents are provided with facilities to enhance their awareness by holding social and recreational events, publication of leaflets and specialized magazines in addition to training and qualifying Bahraini personnel to be better able to deal with persons suffering from this syndrome.
As one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at achieving the sole goal and vision of a brighter future and community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
