BBK shows support towards diabetic children by participating in the 6 –A- Side football tournament

In line with its strategic initiative for a brighter community, BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking handed over a cheque of BD 1,000 as a gesture of its support towards the Rotary Club of Manama in their initiative to create awareness on diabetes. The cheque was handed over by Mr. Reyadh Sater, BBK’s General Manager – Shared Services Group to Mr. Raj Damani, Rotary Club of Manama past President and Mr. Robert Timmers, Rotary Club of Manama in coming President and 6 – A -Side Committee member with the presence of Mrs. Rafa Kaddoura, BBK’s Corporate Communication Manager and Mrs. Alya Khunji, BBK’s Corporate Communication Officer.

Taking place at the Bahrain Rugby and Football Club in Saar, with the aim of raising funds to support children who are diagnosed with diabetes, BBK participated in the 6 – A – Side football tournament with a full fledged team on April 27th. The Rotary Club of Manama managed to raise a total of BD 21,000 with more than 300 players  from different nationalities participating in this charitable event.

On co sponsoring this event, Mr. Reyadh Sater said: “Showing BBK’s support towards the community and increasing the level of awareness on the disease of diabetes is considered part of our social responsibility. The aim of this event was one of a humanitarian one, we couldn’t miss out on.” 

Thanking BBK for its generous support, Mr. Robert Timmers added: “The money we have raised will be used to educate children and their families on the treatment of diabetes. We are coordinating with the Bahrain Diabetes Society and Al Kindi Hospital in its charity effort to help with this very important issue.”

As one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at achieving the sole goal and vision of a brighter future and community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
