Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, driven by a steadfast dedication to fostering community partnership and empowering Bahraini talent, has announced the groundbreaking launch of “Grow” internship program.

This transformative initiative aims to cultivate and enhance the skills and capabilities of Bahraini university graduates, particularly those seeking employment in the banking sector. Spanning a period of six months, this comprehensive program will nurture 20 selected applicants, providing them with tools and resources to excel in their professional journeys.

Moreover, the “Grow” program is meticulously designed to bolster the potential of young national talents, equipping them with the necessary skills to seamlessly integrate into the labor market and make a lasting impact in their chosen fields.

In this comprehensive program, the participants will undergo an enriching two-week specialized training at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). Throughout the training, participants will be immersed in a variety of topics, such as financial analysis, risk management, banking information technology, marketing, operations, information security, and anti-money laundering. Upon completing the two weeks, the trainees will join the Bank where they will be afforded hands-on experience by engaging in the practical environment, and gaining insights from experienced employees across various roles and functions.

Furthermore, the program aims to enhance the graduates’ skills and practical abilities through specialized workshops led by a team of highly qualified trainers and experts. This collective effort strives to equip the participants for the banking sector, laying the groundwork for their successful entry into the industry and fostering future opportunities for their professional growth.

Mr. Hassaan Burshaid, BBK’s Group Chief Human Resources & Administration Officer of BBK, stated: “The training program is part of the broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, which aims to foster societal development and specifically support Bahraini youth. The primary focus is on honing their skills and capabilities, a key aspect of the development strategy.

The program’s main goal is to provide an appropriate educational and training environment that facilitates the enhancement of practical competencies among the youth. This, in turn, empowers them to effectively compete in the labor market and secure employment opportunities.”

Mr. Burshaid emphasized that the “Grow” training program serves as a valuable platform for Bahraini youth to acquire the essential skills and practical experience required for seamless integration into the job market. The program achieves this by offering diverse training and developmental opportunities that familiarize participants with the workflows and tasks associated with banking jobs. Moreover, it enables them to meet the qualifications necessary for joining the banking and financial sector in Bahrain, aligning with the bank’s objectives to bolster and nurture national capabilities, thereby addressing the demands of the labor market.

He also, expressed the Bank’s immense pride in taking a leading role among national entities to empower, advance, and develop Bahraini youth. He highlighted: “The training program is a significant initiative undertaken by BBK to actively support community partnerships and contribute to the enhancement of job opportunities for young Bahrainis. The program has been carefully designed to focus on honing the most critical skills and abilities necessary for participants to excel in the banking sector.

To apply for the program, interested individuals can access the application form via the Bank’s website and social media channels. The application period is set to open from August 1 to August 10.
