On the occasion of the Orphans Day, which falls on the first Friday of April in each year, and in line with its strategic initiatives for a brighter community and to encourage the spirit of charitable and voluntary activities amongst its staff members, BBK- Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking – organized a visit to the Batelco Child Care Home on Monday 4th April, 2011.
Rafa Kaddoura and Abeer Swar, BBK- Corporate Communications Department and Abdulrahman Hussain and Yousif Al Sindi, BBK- Staff Social Committee presented gifts to the orphans at the Batelco Child Care Home, on behalf of the Bank’s employees. Those gifts were funded by donations from staff members during the Bank’s annual party.
The gifts reflect the employees’ belief in the importance of the role they play, each one individually and as a group in the Bahraini community. BBK is proud of its employees who have always proved that social responsibility is not to be shouldered by the Bank alone but that they do have a commitment and a role to play in the field of voluntary activities. The Batelco Child Care Home initiative is not the first one but the employees have been carrying out numerous initiatives such as visiting the Pediatrics Department at Sulmaniya Medical Complex and volunteering for several years to train local school students as part of the Injaz Bahrain training programme.
The Batelco Child Care Home (formerly Child Care Home) has over the years received regular donations and contributions from the Bank which enabled it to boost its financial resources, helping it to provide comprehensive social, educational, health and other kinds of care to orphans.
As one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at achieving the sole goal and vision of a brighter future and community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
