(MENAFN) Arabian Business reported lately that Abu Dhabi is planning to open a Robots factory, a step aimed to replace low-skilled workers in the capital.
The project will be launched late next year, and is projected to produce around dozen of the robots per month.
The project belongs to Barcelona-based company PAL Robotics, part of Abu Dhabi conglomerate the Royal Group, which is a dedicated research, development and commercialization of humanoid robots company.
PAL Robotics launched REEM, a 1.65m tall mobile humanoid robot, earlier this year, and has the ability to move at a speed of 5km per hour.
REEM, the humanoid robot, is equipped with an autonomous navigation system, a touch screen, and PAL claims it is capable of roaming through any kind of surroundings, replacing traditionally employed low-skilled workers.
The Robot was successfully exhibited at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), and received an order of 20 robots, and ignited the idea of opening the robots factory in the emirate.
