(MENAFN) Bahrain’s telecommunications regulation authority’s (TRA) director of information and communications technologies, Ahmed Aldosari, said that the authority would reconsider its decision about the suspension of 2Connect operations in the Kingdom, reported The National.
Aldosari said that the authority’s decision to stop 2Connect’s services was first taken last month due to security reasons and now it’s extended to April, so that the company’s customers would have time to change to another operator.
He added that TRA would take its final decision about canceling its resolution and giving back the licence to the operator at the authority’s board meeting.
2Connect’s chief executive, Fahad al Shirawi, said that the company collaborated with Next Generation Network Solutions (NGNS), another Bahrain based operator in order to ensure that the service would continue reaching the clients.
It is worth noting that 2Connects clients include Citibank, BNP Paribas, Icap, Bloomberg News and the US government.
