(MENAFN) The Saudi Ministry of Transportation announced yesterday signing 4 contracts for Al Haramain train station worth USD 2.5 billion, in a step aiming at linking various cities in the country train station, Al Sharq Al Awsat reported today.
Ph.D. Jbarah Al Sarairah, Saudi Ministry of Transportation and Railway Commission Chairman illustrated that the aim of the contracts is to establish a station in Jeddah, Riyadh, Mecca, Al Madina, in addition to a station serving King Abdulla’s Economic City.
The minister further explained that the train stations were built according to the highest international standards in stations constructions, influenced by Islamic archetecture.
The contracts that were signed yesterday are Mecca contract USD 847 million, Al Madina contract USD 415 million, Jeddah contract USD 773 million, and the last contract for the King’s city for 466 millions.
