(MENAFN) ABB’s Power Systems division manager, Peter Leupp, said that the Swiss power technology firm signed a deal with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) that worth USD144 million, reported Arabian Business.
Leupp added that through the deal, which was booked in this year’s second quarter, the firm would establish and improve substations in Riyadh and Hail to meet the increasing demand for power in the region, moreocer, ABB would execute engineering, design, supply and installation of a new substation in Wasit.
He also said that the substations would reinforce Saudi’s transmission and distribution grid to serve the needs of main infrastructure establishments such as medical and educational institutions.
It is worth noting that ABB will construct a 132 KV substation in Roikbah east Najran to make sure that the Medical City in Jizan gets uninterrupted power supplies.
