The ADTA added that the terminal, which would span over an area of 2,000 square meters, was established with the purpose to provide accommodation for the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 cruise seasons.
It also said that the new terminal would open with a welcome ceremony for the 59,000 ton, luxurious MSC Lirica liner, adding that the arrival of MSC Lirica would be forecasted to boost Abu Dhabi’s cruise traffic.
It is worth noting that the construction of the new terminal was made in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT).
