(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi launched “Golf in Abu Dhabi” initiative aimed to extend its share in the USD17 billion estimated global golf market, Arabian Business reported.
The initiative follows the former world number one golfer Tiger Woods announcement that he would make his debut in Abu Dhabi’s premier golf tournament next year.
The initiative, headed by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), was developed in partnership with golf clubs, hotels and destination management companies.
The initiative debuts with special rates at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club (ADGC) and Yas Links Golf Club, accompanied by add-ons such as flights, hotels and the on-the-ground transportation.
Dayne Lim, product development director at ADTA said that Abu Dhabi’s championships during the last six years have put the Gulf emirate on the golf map.
He added that golf tourism in Abu Dhabi was also strengthened by the destination’s price competitiveness.
