(MENAFN) The emirate of Abu Dhabi is investing heavily in underground construction projects and is currently planning several mega infrastructure projects, in order to meet the rising demands of the developing city and the needs of the growing population, TradeArabia reported.
Experts pointed out that one of the most significant projects in the emirate is the Al Salam Street tunnel, which is a result of the co-ordination between Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, Urban Planning Council, Department of Transport and General Command of Abu Dhabi Police.
Experts also said that the Abu Dhabi municipality would provide exclusive information as per the design and construction considerations, environmental solutions and traffic management systems at a major conference to be held in the city in May.
Abdullah Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Municipal Infrastructure and Assets Sector at Abu Dhabi Municipality, said that the municipality will provide an insight into current trends and grounds of the boom in underground construction across the Middle East region.
The efforts of Abu Dhabi’s municipality are aimed towards securing an advanced network of infrastructure and transportation facilities with the aim to achieve the highest level of road, rail and utility efficiency in the emirate.
