Abu Dhabi passenger traffic up 9.2% in July

(MENAFN) A report released by the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) showed that Abu Dhabi saw an increase of 9.2 percent in passenger traffic during July, compared to the same month in 2009, Gulf News reported.

Aircraft movements increased by 10.1 percent, while cargo saw a 12.3 percent rise with a total of 36,755 tons transported through the airport.

Passenger traffic to North America grew by 76 percent during the same month, the statement said. South Africa also saw strong growth with a 27 percent increase, compared to July 2009.

ADAC�s July traffic report also revealed the top five city destinations for the month were London, Bangkok, Cairo, Manila, and Doha, which together accounted for 19.1 percent of all traffic at the airport.
