Abu Dhabi witnesses 16% rise in hotel guests by October-end

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) said that the number of guests staying in the 118 hotels and hotel apartments in Abu Dhabi emirate during the January-October period of the current year reached 1,477,978, registering a 16 percent climb compared to the corresponding period a year earlier, Gulf News reported.

According to data, the promising figures are very likely to reach, if not surpass the emirate�s target of 1.65 million hotel guests; an increase of 10 percent compared to 2009.

The data showed that Abu Dhabi also recorded a 15 percent year-on-year increase in guest nights to 4,096,140, during the mentioned period.

The emirate anticipates a positive outlook for the upcoming few months, since it has hosted a number of key trade exhibitions and, of course, the 2010 Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in addition to the recent opening of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and the arrival of the Yas Island Show Weekends.
