(MENAFN) Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, General Manager at Abu Dhabi-based National Drilling Company (NDC), announced that the company has set a five-year expansion plan as the oil and gas rig industry responds to increasing demand, Gulf News reported.
According to Al Suwaidi, NDC plans to construct an additional 16 rigs including the upgrade and refurbishment of Al Ittihad drilling rig, which is being built by Drydocks World, the shipbuilding and repair subsidiary of Dubai World.
The Abu-Dhabi-based company has clients such as Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), requesting more rigs, Al Suwaidi revealed.
