(MENAFN) The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) has officially inaugurated Phase 2 of ExCeL London built at a cost of 165 million, Gulf News reported.
ExCeL is an international exhibition and conference centre wholly owned by Adnec. ExCeL London was bought by Adnec for Dh2.3 billion in May 2008 from its Malaysian owner. It’s expansion creates a world class international convention centre (ICC) for the UK capital with facilities including a 5,000-seat auditorium, a breakout area for 2,500 delegates and London’s largest banqueting hall with a 3,000-seat capacity.
Adnec chairman Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan said that ExCeL is a cornerstone for the development of the Adnec brand, helping to open new trade links to the UAE capital and promoting it to the world. He added that the ties between the UAE and Britain will be enhanced over the next five years as both governments seek to boost bilateral trade by more than 60 percent by 2015. According to Al Nahyan, Excel will have a significant role in realising this ambition.
