(MENAFN) AeroMobile, the mobile phone service provider used on Emirates Airlines flights, stated that it expects users later this month to hit five million, reported Emirates 24/7.
Emirates reported a hike of 38 percent in the number of passengers who use the on-board service provided by AeroMobile. Emirates provides this service on more than 220 of its flights every day.
The service enables passengers to use their mobiles the same way they would on land. Emirates said that it recorded an increase in the number of travelers since AeroMobile was introduced.
It is worth noting that in 2010 up to 227 uses of AeroMobile were recorded in a single flight as 65 per cent of passengers switched their on their phones. In addition, the number of passengers sending and receiving SMS from their phone increased by 42 percent.
