Baghdad to launch $9b bid for 4 new refineries

(MENAFN) Iraq’s deputy oil minister Motassam Akram Hassan announced plans to build four new refineries in the cities of Kirkuk, Kerbala, Nassiriya and Maysan, Reuters reported.

Hassan stated that the bid round could be conducted for all four refineries at once, estimating the projects at roughly $9 billion.

During an energy conference in Abu Dhabi, he added that the capacity of the south is insufficient to export.
