(MENAFN) Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Affairs Minister and National Oil and Gas Authority chairman, Dr Abdulhussein Mirza, announced that the Kingdom plans to build two wind energy plants to produce electricity, Trade Arabia reported.
According to Dr Mirza, test results concluded on wind velocity in Bahrain shall be submitted soon in order to determine what kind of plant should be set up.
The two �hybrid� solar and wind energy plants that are to be built, cost approximately $8 billion, the minister said.
The mentioned deal was negotiated with Russian gas giant Gazprom, and is currently in its final stages, Dr Mirza revealed.
