(MENAFN) International Automobile Federation (FIA) said that Bahrain should decide by May if it the Formula One grand prix could take place this year after it had been postponed due to accelerating protests in the country, reported Arabian Business.
FIA reported that the opening race of the Formula One grand prix current season was scheduled for this month; however, the Kingdom was unable to carry out its plans as the political unrest tightened its grip on the country.
In response, the FIA decided that the season would be launched from Melbourne in Australia by late March.
Formula One officials said they were in favor of a reschedule for Bahrain’s race towards the end of the season.
