Bahrain’s Balexco eyes increased aluminum production

06 Dec 2010

(MENAFN) Chief Executive Officer at Bahrain Aluminum Extrusion Company (Balexco), Jassim Mohamed Seyadi, announced that the company is eyeing an increase in its annual production to 33,000 tons per annum (tpa) by the end of 2011, Trade Arabia reported.

Balexco, while announcing the setting up of a fourth extrusion line, also said a new anodizing plant would be commissioned at its Sitra facility in March, both reaching a total value of $23.9 million, revealed Seyadi. Construction has already started on the $12.2 million line and is nearing completion on the $8.2 million plant.

While the new extrusion line will complement the existing three lines, the new anodizing plant will replace the ageing plant that will be demolished soon, Seyadi added. As a result of the launch of the new excursion line, the company will up its production from 25,000 tpa to 33,000 tpa.
