Britain’s Halcrow wins deal for Abu Dhabi industrial city

(MENAFN) Britain’s Halcrow Group Limited said that it has won a master plan consultancy services contract from Abu Dhabi National Chemicals Company, (ChemaWEyaat), for a chemicals industrial city known as Madeenat ChemaWEyaat Al Gharbia (MCAG), Khaleej Times reported.

The Government of Abu Dhabi has allocated the 70 square kilometers on which Halcrow will develop the master plan for the MCAG site, in addition to ChemaWEyaat Site at Khalifa Industrial Zone at Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi.

Under the contract, the master plan will focus on detailed infrastructure planning for all future ChemaWEyaat chemicals complexes, starting with ChemaWEyaat�s first project, “Tacaamol Phase 1 project”, which consists of the design and construction of world’s largest Reformer to date, with a capacity of about 70,000 barrel per day and an integrated BTX Units that will primarily produce Benzene, Toluene, Paraxylene, Orthoxylene and Metaxylene, as well as Light Naphtha and LPG for export.
