Chevrolet sales in ME increases 9.2% in 2010

(MENAFN) A Spokesman of General Motor’s core brand Chevrolet, Samer Al Khalil, said that the company’s sales in the Middle East went up 9.2 percent in the year 2010, reported Gulf News.

Al Khalil said that the increase in sales came as a result of the newly launched vehicles, Cruze, Malibu, Traverse and Camaro. The Bestseller vehicles were the Silverado, which sales rose up to 74 percent, then the Tahoe with 14 percent rise in sales and finally the Avalanche plus with 39 percent increase.

Speaking about sales in the Middle East, Al Khalil said that the Tahoe was the most popular model in the UAE in 2010. Also, the fastest growing model was the Silverado, which sales grew by 45 percent, he added.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia is considered the largest market in the Middle East for Chevrolet followed by Iraq, which is now Chevrolet’s second largest market in the region after reporting 56 percent sales growth.
