China, Jordan sign $4.5m grant

(MENAFN) Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Jafar Hassan, said that China gave Jordan a $4.5 million grant to fund development projects in Jordan, reported Kuna.

The minister said that the agreement was signed with the Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Chen Jian. The agreement covers a moderate economic and technical cooperative program that extend from 2011 till 2013.

Hassan added that the program would help Jordan in enhancing commercial and investment ties in the fields of tourism and training.

The minister also said that China had already provided financial aids to Jordan in the past few years that amounted to $1195 million in the past eleven years.
