(MENAFN) Airbus order data showed that Dubai Aerospace Enterprise’s leasing unit (DAE Capital) called off USD4.7 billion worth orders from Airbus following the cancelation of a USD2 billion worth order form Boeing, reported Arab News.
The majority state-owned leasing firm canceled orders for eighteen A320 single-aisle aircrafts and twelve A350-900 wide-body jets. The cancelation of orders caused a decline in the net order of the European aircraft producer in 2011.
DAE Capital had also canceled orders for 32 Boeing 737 aircraft in February 2011.
Airbus stated that it sold forty aircrafts and got 43 cancelations in January and February of 2011. The company also received 73 aircrafts over the same period.
