(MENAFN) The managing director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, said that the authority inked 5 deals worth about USD272.2 million for infrastructure and engineering work on its new power and water projects, reported Gulf News.
Al Tayer said that the deals include enhancing the existing infrastructure and boosting the efficiency of the grids to meet the estimated six to seven percent increase in demand in 2012.
The first deal was singed with Pratibha Industries for the building of Al Ghafat Reservoirs Phases one and two with a capacity of 120 million imperial gallons (Mig).
The second contract was inked with Apina of Spain for constructing an inlet air-chilling facility for gas turbines at their substation in Jebel Ali. The third deal included 132-KV cable-laying works and was signed with Emirates Electrical Engineering LLC.
The last 2 contracts were inked with Siemens for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 5 series reactor stations.
