(MENAFN) Dubai Airports CEO, Paul Griffiths, said that last month, passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport rose 10 percent from 2010 reaching 4.7 million passengers, reported Arabian Business.
Griffiths added that the number grew 9 percent in this year’s Jan-July period from last year’s same period of 26,870,440 reaching 29,291,927 passengers, moreover, biggest gains were recorded on traffic from and to Saudi, the US and Qatar.
He also said that in the month, aircraft movements went up 4.2 percent from 2010’s same period to 27,166, while aircraft movements in the year’s first seven months increased 6.8 percent from 2010’s 297,355 movements to 317,664.
It is worth noting that in the Jan-July period, cargo handled at Dubai International declined 0.16 percent from 2010’s 1,252,505 tones of cargo to 1,250,489 tones.
