(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) reported that the total exports by its member firms saw a year-on-year 13 percent hike in April, Khaleej Times reported.

According to the chamber, Dubai’s total exports of 4,645 members during April grew to $4.57 billion compared to the corresponding period a year earlier, but the current value is 10 percent lower than previous monthÂ’s $5.1 billion exports.

The Gulf countries remained the biggest export destination of Dubai Chamber members with nearly $2.2 billion exports, or 48 percent of total value during the month. But compared to March’s $2.6 billion exports, it saw a contraction of 16 percent in the value. Dubai Chamber members exports to Saudi Arabia shrank by 17 percent to $216 million compared to March exports.

In the first three months of the year, the chamber membersÂ’ exports grew by $1.8 billion to $13.8 billion over the $12 billion the companies reported in the year-earlier corresponding period.
