Dubai gold exports decrease 6.7%

(MENAFN) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) said that gold exports from Dubai decreased 6.7 percent during the first half of 2010 to 225 tons compared to 240 tons to the same period of time in 2009, Trade Arabia reported.

In the first half gold imports to Dubai totaled 384 tons, up 4.3 percent or 16 tons from the same period last year.

The volume of gold traded through Dubai for the first half held steady at 608 tons, with an overall value of $21.17 billion.

The DMCC also noted that there was an 11.6 percent increase in exports for bars of gold. On the other hand, the re-exports for waste & scrap of gold witnessed an 84.5 percent decrease.
