(MENAFN) Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Exports (EDC), revealed that Dubai has recorded a 35 percent surge in its direct exports by September-end, year on year, and is forecasted to continue its upward trend, Khaleej Times reported.
Figures also showed that during the mentioned period, Dubai’s total re-exports increased by 25 percent, while imports grew by 17 percent, whereas both sectors are considered to be major contributors to the emirates’ economy, explained Al Awadi.
Al Awadi stated that the UAE is striving to become one of the leading exporting countries in the world, whereas measures are being taken by the government to further enhance trade.
