(MENAFN) The Industrial District of Dubai Maritime City said that in the first half of 2011, the number of operations held at the facility doubled from 2010’s same period reaching 318 vessel docking and undocking operations, reported Gulf News.
The facility added that since it was opened earlier in 2011, the District witnessed strong business performance, where it held between 3000-tonne and 6000-tonne ship lifts.
It also said that different types and categories of vessels were docked in the facility including general cargo vessels, anchor handling vessels, supply vessels and utility vessels.
It is worth noting that in the near term, Maritime City plans to expand its offerings to enhance the available repair services it provides to the small to mid-size vessel owners.
