(MENAFN) A top official at Dubai-based SKA Air & Logistics revealed that the firm has signed a 10-year agreement with Somalia’s government to take over the running of Mogadishu International Airport, Gulf Daily News reported.
Under the agreement, SKA will be in charge of the management of the terminals, security, screening and also passenger security, whereas SKA staff members are already present at Mogadishu airport where they have started training Somali personnel.
According to the official, the Dubai-based firm which also has operations in the UAE, Kuwait and elsewhere in Africa, is also in the running for a contract to manage the Mogadishu sea port, and currently operates airports in Iraq and Afghanistan.
