(MENAFN) Dubai Duty Free (DDF) said it would hire 1,000 employees next year as part of its plan to expand retail outlets at Dubai Airport’s third concourse, Arabian Business reported.
Colm McLoughlin, DDF CEO, explained that the expansion includes some 8,000sqm of retail space selling items such as perfumes, cosmetics, gold and jewellery.
DDF lately reported USD1.16 billion sales during the ten months to October, with perfume sales accounting for 14.6 percent of the total sales.
In September, McLoughlin unveiled plans to expand the retailer’s cosmetics offering as Dubai Airport grows, to cater for surging demand among passengers.
He said DDF expected to employ 3,000 more staff for the projected 2015 launch.
