(MENAFN) Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won an order worth $350 million from Egyptair for extended TotalCare long-term services for 12 Airbus A330 aircraft.
Egyptair currently operates eight A330s and four are due to be delivered in 2010 and 2011.
The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the Airbus A330 and over 1,000 are now in service or on firm order. The engine has captured more than 75 per cent of orders in the last three years. More than 90 per cent of Trent engines in service have TotalCare support.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the first Rolls-Royce jet engine going into service in Egypt, an Avon.-
