Egypt’s core inflation accelerates to 8.17% in August

(MENAFN) The Central Bank of Egypt said that the country’s core annual inflation has accelerated to 8.17 percent in the year to August from 7.08 percent in July, Reuters reported.

Analysts forecast core annual inflation slightly dipping to an average of 7.05 percent in the year to August. Forecasts ranged from 6.6 percent to 7.4 percent.

It is worth mentioning that core inflation strips out subsidized goods and volatile items such as fruit and vegetables.
