(MENAFN) Emirates Airlines said that in a move to reduce waiting time on customers, the carrier launched a baggage delivery service at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3, reported Gulf News.
The carrier added that the service would allow travelers to have their baggage delivered anywhere in the UAE for a small fee, adding that agents would collect the baggage and clear customs, whereas clients would have to pay USD54 as a fee for up to 4 pieces of luggage, for delivery anywhere in Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah, and USD68 for delivery in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, however, customers would have to pay USD2.7 for each extra bag.
It also said that all baggage should conform to standard weight and dimensions regulations; moreover, any bag that would contain banned items would require a physical check in the presence of the customer.
It is worth noting that more than a billion pieces of checked baggage are handled globally annually, according to International Air Transport Association.
