(MENAFN) The President of Emirates airline, Tim Clark, said that the company started to operate flights to Basra at the same time as bilateral trade between the UAE and Iraq are continuously growing, reported Gulf News.
Clark said that the first flight to Basra was the company’s first service to Iraq, registering Emirates’ 110th international destination.
Clark said that the company estimated 130 tones of freight per week to be transported between Dubai and Basra on both passenger and cargo services.
Emirate’s president said that flights would be 4 times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing at 1.45pm from Dubai and landing at Basra International Airport at 2.45pm the same day. The return flight would depart at 4.15pm from Basra and land at 7.10pm in Dubai, Clark added.
