(MENAFN) The Chairman of Emirates airline said that the Dubai government-owned carrier has not put its fleet expansion on hold and may announce more aircraft orders later this year, Reuters reported.
He also affirmed that the Dubai-owned carrier was ready to launch an initial public offering (IPO) whenever the Dubai government gave it the green light.
Emirates, The Arab world’s biggest carriers said it was losing $10 million per day due to flight disruptions caused by ash from an Icelandic volcano. Sheikh Ahmed said he was ‘very positive to cover the loss’ from the ash cloud disruption.
Emirates, the largest customer for the Airbus A380 superjumbo, expects to take delivery of 11 aircraft in 2010.
