(MENAFN) Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, Europe and Russian Federation, Salem Obaidalla, said that due to increasing passenger demand, the carrier would enhance its flights to Germany through launching additional frequencies to Frankfurt and improving one of its Munich flights to an A380 super jumbo, reported Emirates 24/7.
Obaidalla added that the new daily Frankfurt flight would go into operation during the next winter schedule which would increase the service to three daily flights to the city, whereas the carrier’s morning flights to Munich would be upgraded to a super jumbo from January 2012.
He also said that the increase in flights to Germany would boost the multi billion dollar relationship between the two countries, since it would increase economic growth by facilitating the flow of business and cargo as well as opening new markets to German exporters and importers.
It is worth noting that Emirates is the biggest buyer of the Airbus superjumbo and one of the largest customers for the Airbus A350 aircraft. The A380 program alone is estimated to provide at least 40,000 direct and indirect German jobs.
