(MENAFN) Emirates Airline and Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said that in November, the carrier would launch passenger flights to Baghdad four times a week, reported Gulf News.
Al Maktoum added that the service to Baghdad, which would be the carrier’s second destination in the country besides Basra, would operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
He also said that the new destination the carrier’s fifth international destination this year. Earlier this month, the airline launched its Geneva flights, in August it would launch Copenhagen flights and in November St. Petersburg’s.
It is worth noting that Baghdad is a strategically important destination for Emirates, for its geographical location, in addition, few international airlines operate there.
