(MENAFN) The Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, James Hogan, announced
a codeshare agreement between the South Korean Asiana Airlines and Etihad, which will start as of next month, Gulf News reported.
Under the new agreement, the two airlines? flights between Abu Dhabi, Seoul and beyond will be operating under an EY (Etihad) and OZ (Asiana) code.
The codeshare was formed in hopes to increase the flow of traffic between South Korea and the UAE, and aims to expand towards Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Korea in the long run.
The agreement entails a reciprocal rewards programme, whereas frequent passengers can earn and redeem points on the codeshared flights, stated the CEO.
