(MENAFN) The Chief Operating Officer at Etihad Airways, Peter Baumgartner, said that with support from the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the airline started a marketing campaign called “essential abu dhabi” which aims at presenting the UAE’s capital as a tourism and business destination and increasing the number of its visitors, reported Gulf News.
Baumgartner said that the campaign would enable Abu Dhabi visitors to obtain special rates at hotels, tour operators, restaurants, various cultural and entertainment events by using their boarding passes during the first 7 days they arrive in the emirate.
The COO said that the campaign’s goal is to globally boost Abu Dhabi’s presence and assist in making the city one of the world’s top tourist and MICE destinations.
According to Baumgartner, Etihad Airways is also presenting an A330 aircraft which would fly to Europe with a new look, carrying the Abu Dhabi logo as part of the marketing campaign “essential abu dhabi”.
