(MENAFN) James Hogan, Chief Executive Officer at Etihad Airways, announced that it plans to launch an additional route to Europe from its base in Abu Dhabi, without identifying the destination, Bloomberg reported.
The mentioned service city will be the 10th service in Europe served by the Middle East’s fourth largest airline, which operates to Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Manchester, Milan, Munich and Paris. It also flies to Athens and two East European cities, said Hogan.
According to Hogan, and in line with the Abu Dhabi-based carrier’s philosophy, major benefits come from opening markets, whereas the airline must not allow economic adversity to push it back towards protectionism, and that those that cling to the old order of things will be left behind.
