(MENAFN) Etisalat’s chief corporate communication officer, Ali Al Ahmed, said that the operator launched the last phase of trials on the long-term evolution network that would be presented to customers in September, reported Arabian Business.
Al Ahmed said that the new network would five customers up to 150 megabits per second bandwidth, compared to a current maximum of 42 megabits.
The officer also said that 800 base stations were required in order to enable this leap. HE said that the UAE would be the first to apply such technology.
