(MENAFN) Jordan and the European Union EU on Monday signed a grant agreement under which the latter would provide $19 million to help enhance the competitiveness of small, medium and micro SMEs enterprises in Jordan, Petra News Agency reported.
The grant is part of the (Support to Enterprise and Export Development Program) which aims to increase SMEs competitiveness and facilitate their access to export to foreign markets, according to Petra.
The project will be carried out through participation in industrial and agricultural exhibitions, and supporting and developing export services for Jordanian companies.
The deal was signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jafar Hassan, Industry and Trade Minister Amer Hadidi and Head of the EU Delegation to the Kingdom Patrick Renauld.
