ExxonMobil grants Halliburton Iraq drill deal

12 Apr 2011

(MENAFN) Halliburton president Eastern Hemisphere operations, Joe Rainey, said that the company won a contract for drilling fifteen wells in West Qurna oil field in Iraq for ExxonMobil, reported Arab News.

Rainey said that the company would use three drilling rigs to deliver the wells in the first phase of the Iraqi project.

Rainey declined to state the financial value of the deal.

ExxonMobil Iraq had announced last month that the first phase of the project increased the oil field daily production capacity to 285,000 barrels, which is ten percent more than the pre-set target.
