(MENAFN) Flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said that the carrier would launch its service to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, to become Flydubai’s 45th destination on its network, reported Khaleej Times.
Al Ghaith added that the carrier obtained the approval from the Georgian authorities, who described the service as means to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and Georgia mainly in the fields of banking, real estate, oil and gas and tourism.
He also said that the route would also improve air links between Dubai to Central and Eastern Europe which was considered as a strategic importance to the carrier.
It is worth noting that Tbilisi is the industrial, social, and cultural centre of the country. In recent years, the city gained prominence in the Middle East both as a business and leisure destination.
