(MENAFN) Fludubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said that this month, the carrier would launch its flight to the Indian city of Ahmedabad, to become the company’s third destination in the country, reported Emirates 24/7.
Al Ghaith added that the flight would take off once a week from Dubai on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, where passenger volume would be expected to reach between 70 percent and 80 percent.
He also said that the carrier selected the Indian city as a result of growing commercial and social bilateral ties between the UAE and India; however, the Dubai based budget airline had no plans to launch additional routes to India in 2011.
It is worth noting that the Indian budget carrier, Indigo, announced that it will launch daily flights from Dubai to Delhi starting this September, in addition to another destination connecting Dubai with Mumbai in early October.
