(MENAFN) The government-owned Fujairah Media Group’s (FMG) Chief Executive Officer, Mekki Abdulla, said that the emirate would invest USD36 million in internet and data services in South Sudan, reported The National.
Abdulla said that FMGwould set up a communications center in the soon-to-be independent South Sudan in the state of Central Equatoria in collaboration with Sudanese authorities.
Abdullah said that the project would be fully financed by Fujairah Investments, a shareholder at FMG.
Abdulla also said that the project aims at creating a wireless cloud over the state, thus enabling the transmission for wireless data services.
